When is The Right to Teach Children to Read

When is the right to teach children to read?
In determining the appropriate time for the children are taught reading course could not have relied only on age, and some child psychologists argue that when children are taught to read is at the right time with the readiness to be taught. Provision of teaching and treatment will not give you the most and would have a negative effect when administered before or after the period of this readiness(Crow & crow, 1989).
Teacher Education in the curriculum for kindergarten has been emphasized that the children in the preschool / kindergarten should not be taught that tends to read like an academic in an elementary school, because it's not going to develop the child's personality, but it will prevent, suppress and difficult for children because children are taught not time to read (Musta'in Conscience, 2005).
Let's look at a child's cognitive development consists of 4 (four) stages; Sensory Motor Stage (0-18 months), Pre-Operational Stage (18 months - 7 years), Concrete Operational Stage (7-11 years), Formal Operational Stage (from 11 years) (Monk's, Knoers, Haditono, 1988), ability to read, write and count can only be achieved after children aged 6 years and above or in the concrete operational stage (7-11 years) (Rifa'i, 1984) and this is the national curriculum standards that primary school age children (7-12 years) a new child should be taught to read. Therefore, teachers in kindergarten are not allowed to teach children to read because it is considered premature and inconsistent with developmental level of children.
While some experts argue that the Stadium Operations No need to wait until the arrival of children aged 7-12 years because the child can be guided into the Stadium earlier Perasional concrete through specific exercises. (Smedslun). Tutoring in reading can be accelerated by providing pre-reading experience or pre reading experience (Burn et al, 1984). And amsih many experts who argue that in the Sensory Motor Stage children have been taught to recognize colors, shapes, smells, and so the object's name along with learning to read.
Given the above rationale is natural that the current curriculum used competency-based curriculum has given space to teach children to read early so berkembaglah play group and kindergarten with mengasilkan graduates who have been able to write, count and read. All these have an impact on entry to primary school that the child can be accepted that has been able to count and read .....
Fore may be raised again the opinions of experts who new about it but any expert opinion, we as parents would have to prepare our children for primary school later after no hassles permanent solution to keep pace with the attention and love into something that takes precedence. ....
